Osun Tricycle Operators Applaud Adeleke for Ongoing Road and Flyover Projects

Members of the Tricycle Riders Association in Osun State have hailed Governor Ademola Adeleke for what they describe as a sweeping improvement in road infrastructure across Osogbo and other communities.

The riders, who spoke during an inspection tour of ongoing and completed projects on Tuesday, said the new roads and flyovers had transformed the state’s transport landscape and eased their daily operations.

Sarafa Oyegbile, chairman of the Tricycle Association of Nigeria for Orolu, Irepodun and Egbedore local government areas, said Adeleke’s administration had restored unity within the transport union and delivered visible infrastructural gains.

According to him, the improved road network has significantly reduced wear and tear on their tricycles.

“Before now, many of us had to replace our tyres within three months because of bad roads. Today, the same tyres last nearly a year,” he said.

Oyegbile added that the governor had exceeded expectations on road construction and had earned the loyalty of transport workers and residents.

He, however, appealed for a new park to replace the one displaced by the Oke Fia flyover project.

Similarly, the chairman of the Oke Fia Unit 1, Adebayo Isiaq, said Adeleke’s projects were widely felt across the state.

He noted that tricycle riders had developed cordial relationships with contractors working on the roads.

He also called for a new terminal for operators whose former base was cleared to make way for the ongoing road construction.

Residents and traders in Ajegunle and the BCJ corridor in Olorunda Local Government also expressed gratitude for the rehabilitation of their major access road.

Dare Yakubu, a motor spare parts dealer, said businesses had begun to rebound now that customers could freely access the area.

“The difference is clear. Before, motorists avoided this place because the road was almost impossible to use. Now, our market is busy again,” he said.

Another trader, Fatimah Abidoye, said Adeleke had “done what many administrations ignored,” describing him as the most impactful governor the state had had in years.

A commercial motorcyclist, Ademola Jamiu, said the reconstructed roads had boosted transport activities.

“Where we used to get only two or three trips, we now make up to ten because traffic flows freely,” he said.

The road interventions are part of Adeleke’s wider infrastructure renewal agenda aimed at improving mobility, boosting commerce and enhancing the living conditions of residents across Osun State.
