Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun has directed that the 24-hour curfew imposed on Igbajo town, Boluwaduro Local Government be relaxed to 10 hours daily with immediate effect.

A statement by the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi on Friday noted that the curfew is now between 8pm and 6am until total peace is attained.

“I am happy and elated, to a large extent, over the new security report that I received stating that law and order is gradually coming back to Igbajo.

“Premised on this, as the Chief Security Officer of this State, I formally direct that, the hitherto 24–hour curfew I earlier imposed on Igbajo in Boluwaduro local government area of Osun State be relaxed to 10.

“By implication, the hitherto total lockdown posture on the town will now be from 8pm to 6am of the following day.

“As a government under my watch, I still want to use this opportunity to reiterate my strong belief and total interest for the restoration of all activities that will put in place a return to peace and orderliness, not only in Igbajo community but throughout my dear state, Osun.

“I thank and appreciate the natives and non natives of Igbajo for their renewed commitment at gradual return to peace.

“However, I still direct that a contingent of security personnel, comprising the Army, Police, DSS and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence ( NSCDC), be on 24–hour guard and surveillance until such a time that total peace is seen and must have been duly acknowledged to have been attained and maintained .” Said Governor Ademola Adeleke in the statement.
