Unilesa Set To Launch Engineering Programmes

The University of Ilesa has announced that it is set to commence its engineering program, with a new faculty christened Faculty of Technology, Osun Spring Reports.
This was contained in a statement by Babatunde Fanowopo, Senior Assistant Registrar, Corporate Service and Information Unit of the University.
The statement further noted that the 24 housing units, recently acquired and duly paid for by the University from the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, sited on the University land, will be repurposed for the new faculty.
The state reads, “The University of Ilesa’s Governing Council has approved the establishment of a Faculty of Technology, greenlighting the University Senate’s proposal to launch some engineering programmes. This decision, made at a council meeting on March 31st, 2026, paves the way for the faculty’s launch.
“The 24 housing units, recently acquired and duly paid for by the University from the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, sited on the University land, will be repurposed for the new Faculty of Technology.
“This development marks a significant milestone, positioning UNILESA to drive technological progress in Nigeria.
“The University of Ilesa launched its academic activities in 2023 and currently offers 97 programmes, fulfilling the mandate entrusted to it by the Osun State Government under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State.”
