The Ifedayo Local Government Youth Vanguard has applauded Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his unwavering commitment to peace and good governance amidst rising political tensions in the state.
In a statement signed by the group’s coordinator, Mr. Olasunkanmi Adefila, the youth body commended the governor for maintaining calm and order despite what it described as “deliberate attempts” by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) to incite unrest following recent developments in the state’s local government affairs.
“We are grateful to have a leader like Governor Adeleke who chose the path of peace over provocation,” Adefila said. “The opposition’s plan was clear, to ferment trouble and destabilize the state in order to trigger a state of emergency. But with the kind of Governor we have, he didn’t allow that to happen. He showed maturity and genuine love for Osun.”
Adefila further noted that the governor’s measured response not only preserved stability but also reassured citizens that democracy and the rule of law remain intact in the state.
“Our people are watching, and they are aware of who truly has their interest at heart. The governor’s calm and proactive approach has prevented what could have been an avoidable crisis,” he added.
The group also lauded the Osun State Civil Service, under the leadership of the Head of Service, Mr Samuel Aina, for its unwavering dedication and professionalism in implementing government programmes.
Speaking further, Adefila emphasized the vital role the civil service has played in maintaining administrative stability and advancing the objectives of Governor Adeleke’s administration.
“The civil service has been instrumental in ensuring that governance remains neutral, disciplined, and efficient,” Adefila stated. “Their commitment to upholding the highest standards of public service is not only commendable but essential to the success of our democracy. We deeply appreciate their integrity and resilience.”
He further stressed the need for political maturity across all quarters, urging stakeholders to embrace collaboration over competition.
“At this critical time, we call on all political actors in the state to set aside personal or partisan interests and place the peace, progress, and development of Osun State above all else,” Ajayi said. “The future of our youth, our economy, and our institutions depends on the choices we make today.”
The Youth Vanguard also extended a rallying call to citizens, encouraging them to continue supporting the Adeleke-led administration in its drive to promote inclusive growth and people-centered governance.
“Osun belongs to all of us,” Ajayi concluded. “We must stand together to safeguard our democratic gains and ensure that the government remains responsive and accountable. By working together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous state for generations to come.”
