The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Osun State has warned the All Progressives Congress to desist from the recent surge in the campaign of calumny against the Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Osun APGA added that this disturbing trend has cast a shadow on the sanctity of political discourse within the state.
In a statement obtained by Osun Spring Newspaper, Wole Adedoyin, Chairman of the Osun State chapter of APGA, expressed dismay at the tactics employed by the APC, stating that such actions are antithetical to the principles of fair and issue-based politics.
Adedoyin emphasized the need for a discourse centered on policies, achievements, and the betterment of the state rather than resorting to character assassination.
He further highlighted the commitment of APGA to promoting a healthy political environment, urging all political actors to focus on constructive engagement and refrain from engaging in smear campaigns.
“APGA is dedicated to fostering a political atmosphere where ideas and development take precedence over personal attacks.
“We want to emphasized that the citizens of Osun deserve a campaign season marked by transparency, accountability, and respect for the democratic process.
“We call on the APC to uphold the highest standards of political conduct, urging them to redirect their efforts towards addressing the concerns and aspirations of the electorate.
“APGA Osun affirms its unwavering support for Senator Ademola Adeleke, we want the people of Osun to remain vigilant against divisive tactics that seek to undermine the democratic values the state holds dear.
“We remain committed to promoting a discourse that elevates the political landscape, fostering an atmosphere where citizens can make informed decisions based on merit and vision”, the statement noted.
