The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been rocked series of crisis and protests following what some members of the party described as the imposition of candidates for the upcoming local government elections.
Osun Spring Reports that in a viral video on social media, party members and supporters took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the decision, which they claim was made without consultation or regard for democratic principles.
The protesters from Irepodun Local Government alleged that the imposed candidate, Goke Ogunsola, does not reflect the will of the people and is not representative of the party’s values and ideals.
It was gathered that the development has sparked fears of a rift within the party, with some members threatening to defect or boycott the elections if the decision is not reversed.
