A former Senate Deputy Chief Whip of the 7th National Assembly and current Chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Senator Agboola Hosea Ayoola, has formally resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.

In a resignation letter dated October 10, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, Otu, Oyo State, Senator Ayoola expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve at various levels both within the state and nationally.

The veteran lawmaker noted that his decision to withdraw from the party stemmed from his “future political pursuit,” which, according to him, necessitated his non-participation in the recently concluded local and state congresses of the PDP.

“However, you will observe that I did not participate in all the congresses held recently, i.e., local and state congresses, due to future political pursuit which is necessary at this material time. Consequently, I hereby resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party effective from 10th October 2025,” the letter partly read.

Senator Ayoola, who represented Oyo North Senatorial District during the 7th National Assembly, also extended best wishes to the PDP, expressing hope for its continued success in future endeavours.

As of the time of filing this report, Senator Ayoola has yet to disclose his next political move.
