The Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education to Osun State Governor Arch. Dapo Ademola-Adesina has reiterated Governor Ademola Adeleke’s resolve to transform technical and vocational education in the state.
He made this known during a visit to Iwo Technical College on Wednesday.
Decrying the sorry state of the school during the visit, Arc Dapo said the terrible condition of the school undoubtedly is a result of desertion the past administration showed all the technical colleges, which obviously is a pointer to the backwardness Osun people experienced during the reign of the APC.
Assuring the school principal of a new era, Arc Dapo said that Governor Adeleke led-administration will leave no stone unturned to revamp technical education in Osun as it plays a vital role in human resource development of the state by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life.
“The sorry state of this technical college is surely a testament to many years of negligence of the past administration.
“The APC said it invested humongous amount in the education sector but unfortunately, we have no result for it. Technical education in this century is a sure way to harness the much required human resources and cultivate appropriate skills and knowledge that are indispensable for economic development in any state or nation. Therefore, Governor Adeleke is doing everything possible to ensure that technical and vocational education is not only revamped, but also repositioned for the future and development of our state,’’ he said.
The Special Adviser was accompanied on the trip to Iwo by the Executive Secretary of Technical College of Osogbo, Mr. S.A Omigbodun; Director of Admin and Supplies, Mr Olusegun Agboola; Director of Finance and Account, Mr Oduola Tajudeen and Director of School
Inspectorate , Mr Niyi Ogundele.
