In a surprising event, popular relationship adviser and vlogger, Mewolaka, sparked widespread conversation after publicly commending the performance of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Known for her outspoken nature on her belief and neutrality in party politics, the native of Ilesa shared her thoughts in a series of posts that have drawn both praise and backlash.
In a post shared yesterday, Mewolaka queried opposition party members about the identity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Osun State ahead of the 2026 elections.
She indicated her growing support for Governor Adeleke, fondly referred to as the “Dancing Governor,” stating that his administration had exceeded her expectations.
“Who is Osun State APC gubernatorial candidate before I finally make up my mind to campaign for our dancing governor? Because I think he is doing wonderfully well for now. Forget about dancing and grammar; the man performed beyond my expectations,” she wrote.
This post, however, drew mixed reactions. While some applauded her honesty, others, especially APC supporters, attacked her in the comment section, accusing her of bias. Undeterred, Mewolaka clarified her stance, emphasizing that her loyalty lies solely with the masses and not with politicians.
In a follow-up statement, she describes Governor Ademola Adeleke as the most people-oriented governor the state has seen. Reflecting on Osun’s political history, she drew comparisons between previous administrations and Adeleke’s tenure.
“Dear APC supporters in Osun, I kindly request that you spare me the unnecessary political lectures. I am a native of Osun State, specifically Ilesa, where I was born and raised. During my university days, I witnessed the era of Governor Bisi Akande, including the unfortunate events when civil servants demanded a minimum wage. I also lived through the tenures of his successors and am currently experiencing the administration of Adeleke Jackson. Our dancing governor favours the masses the most out of them all. Governor ADELEKE is doing well. I owe the masses the truth, not you politicians. Thank you.”
During a live Facebook session this morning, Mewolaka reiterated her political neutrality. She noted that she does not hold membership or allegiance to any political party. Her interest, she explained, is solely in advocating for policies and leaders that benefit the people.
She reminded her audience that she supported Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election based on her belief in his ability to deliver results for Nigeria. She added that her current commendation of Governor Adeleke is rooted in his impressive governance and not influenced by party affiliations.
“I wasn’t discussing politics; I was discussing my state. I’m commending the person I thought had nothing to offer, and he has proven me wrong. He is not my enemy nor my friend, and the fact that he proved me wrong does not mean I should not commend him. I did not abuse APC; I only said he is performing beyond my expectations, which is my personal opinion.”
She revealed that her previous criticisms of Governor Adeleke were based on her scepticism about his capabilities. However, she expressed gratitude for being proven wrong, by the governor’s developmental strides in just two years.
She also addressed the personal attacks she has endured over her support for APC, particularly from “Àjànàkú akewe of Osogbo,” who reportedly insulted her and her family twice. The insults led to her family issuing a letter disassociating themselves from her statements. She criticized the APC’s approach to politics in Osun, describing it as anti-development and divisive.
