Fadahunsi, Omirin, Ajagunla Absent From Osun APC Stakeholders Meeting

0 0

Three recently defected Osun lawmakers —Senators Francis Fadahunsi and Olubiyi Ajagunla and House member Sanya Omirin — were notably absent from the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting held in Osogbo on Friday, July 25, 2025, even though all three had formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC .

Despite signing and delivering resignation letters— Fadahunsi on June 12, 2025 and Ajagunla shortly after — neither he, Ajagunla nor Omirin took part in the APC gathering chaired by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and APC state leadership in Osun.

The meeting, aimed at charting the party’s strategy for the 2026 governorship, proceeded without their presence.

The trio’s absence from Friday’s meeting sends a clear message: despite defecting on paper, they were not part of APC’s internal stakeholder strategy meeting—which appears to have been solidly backed by the party faithful present.

Their nonattendance further bolsters the narrative that Governor Adeleke’s PDP remains the dominant force in Osun politics.

Governor Adeleke, who has repeatedly reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP and dismissed speculation of his defection, continues to lead a cohesive campaign front.

As the APC sets its course for the 2026 elections, questions hang over the trio’s actual integration into party processes. Their lack of participation may isolate them from influence within the APC structure, while Adeleke’s unbroken leadership continues to galvanize support under the PDP banner.
