Senator Ajagunla Dumps APC, Clinchs Osun Central Senatorial PDP Ticket

Senator Representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla has defected from All Progressives Congress (APC) back to his former party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Fadeyi has also emerged as the PDP flag bearer for Osun Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2027 General Election.

A document sighted by Osun Spring and dated 8th May 2026, and signed by Samuel Anyanwu, PDP National Secretary indicated that Fadeyi was given a waiver to contest on the platform of PDP by the National Working Committee of the party.

The letter reads, “Please recall your letter on the above stated subject dated May 03, 2026.

“The National Working Committee (NWC) has considered your request and the relevant provisions of our Party Constitution on the granting of waiver, I am pleased to inform you that your application has been approved.

“You are therefore, free to contest for any elective office under our platform. This is without prejudice to any other requirements contained in the Party guidelines and constitution. Congratulations!”

Osun Spring Reports that Fadeyi also received Certificate of Return on the party’s flag bearer for Osun Central on the 24th of June, 2026.

Recall that Fadeyi had earlier resigned from PDP stating the crisis rocking the national leadership of the party as the reason for his exit, he was however unable to secure nomination on the platform of APC.
