Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Thursday returned from a brief vacation abroad.

He declared his renewed energy and commitment to consolidating the gains of his administration.

The governor, who was received by leaders and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s Secretariat in Osogbo, said Osun State had witnessed a remarkable turnaround since he assumed office in 2022.

Adeleke, in his remarks, highlighted the progress recorded across critical sectors, stressing that his government had “moved Osun from pity to confidence, from poverty to prosperity, and from hopelessness to hope.”

According to him, the administration has restored the dignity of workers and pensioners, strengthened healthcare delivery, promoted mechanized agriculture, upgraded infrastructure, and improved access to water and electricity.

He added that youths, artisans, and cooperative societies had also benefitted from empowerment initiatives.

To boost investors’ confidence, the governor said his government streamlined the state’s tax system through harmonization and ensured that Certificates of Occupancy are now processed within 45 days.

He further noted that Osun had reclaimed its heritage in the mining sector, which had suffered neglect for years.

Adeleke cautioned against any attempt to take Osun back to what he described as the “dark past of bad governance,” urging residents to remain steadfast in their support for his administration.

“Together, we shall sustain good governance and secure a brighter future for every citizen of Osun. Imole is here to stay,” he declared.

The governor’s return was marked by jubilation among party members and residents, who trooped out to welcome him.
