The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State has announced the commencement of pending activities under Phase One of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
This follows fresh directives from the Commission’s National Headquarters.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Public Affairs Officer, Musa Olurode, on behalf of the Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, INEC said the activation of the next steps aligns with the approved nationwide schedule for the ongoing voter registration programme.
According to the Commission, the renewed phase is intended to ensure that all eligible voters are given adequate opportunity to register, update their personal information, or verify their existing records ahead of subsequent electoral processes.
INEC confirmed that Phase One will continue until December 10, 2025, after which additional key activities will follow.
As part of the next steps, the Preliminary Register of Voters will be printed between December 13 and 14, 2025, to prepare for its statutory display to the public.
The display for claims and objections is scheduled to run from December 16 to 21, 2025. During this period, residents are expected to visit any of the Commission’s 30 local government offices in the state to verify their details and raise corrections, claims, or objections where necessary.
INEC emphasised that public scrutiny is critical to maintaining an accurate and credible voters’ register.
The Commission also noted that December 21, 2025, has been set aside to receive and document all complaints arising from the display exercise, while necessary corrections to the register will be carried out the following day, December 22, 2025.
INEC further disclosed that the CVR exercise will resume for Phase Two on January 5, 2026. Eligible citizens who have not registered or who need to update their information are encouraged to make use of the available window.
The Commission urged members of the public to rely only on official communication channels for updates and to disregard misinformation capable of misleading voters.
