Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has condoled the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the family of its former state chairman, Adegboyega Famodun, following his passing.
The governor prayed for divine strength for the bereaved family and the opposition party during this difficult period.
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke reflected on the late politician’s long-standing relationship with the Adeleke family, dating back to the years he spent in the United States.
He described Famodun as a committed political figure who made notable contributions to the growth and stability of Osun State’s political landscape.
Governor Adeleke, who had just returned to the country when he received news of the death, also sympathised with the people of Igbajo, urging collective prayers for the peaceful repose of the late monarch and political leader.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Osun State, I extend condolences to the family of our departed brother, Adegboyega Famodun. I received the sad news shortly after arriving in Nigeria today. He was a long-time family friend, and his demise is painful. We stand with the family in this moment of grief, and I pray that his soul rests in perfect peace,” the governor stated.
