2026: Allow Odo Otin to Produce Next IBO Rep- Group Tells Political Parties

The Odo Otin Lokan Parrot Movement, a non-partisan advocacy platform of concerned sons and daughters of Odo Otin Local Government, has called in political parties to allow Otin to produce the member to represent Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja.
The group in a statement by its convener, Bright Oyewumi noted that since the return of democracy in 1999, representation of the constituency has been between Ifelodun and Boripe Local Governments adding that Odo Otin has only produce one Rep since 1999.
The group further called for fairness and political balance in the constituency adding that now is the turn of Odo Otin to produce the next rep member.
“The Odo Otin Lokan Parrot Movement has called for fairness and balanced political representation in the Odo Otin/Ifelodun/Boripe Federal Constituency, stressing that it is time for Odo Otin Local Government to produce the next member of the House of Representatives.
“Since the return of democracy in 1999, representation of the constituency has largely rotated between Ifelodun and Boripe Local Governments. The records clearly show this imbalance.
“From 1999 to 2003, Hon. Abioye Oyetunji from Ifelodun LG; from 2003 to 2005 (30months), Hon. Lanti Alabi from Odo Otin LG; from 2005 to 2011(6yrs & 6months), Hon. Kayode Idowu from Boripe LG; from 2011 to 2015; Hon. Adeyanju Adeyinka Ajayi from Boripe LG; from 2015 to 2019 Hon. Adeyanju Adeyinka Ajayi from Boripe LG; from 2019 to 2023, Hon. Rasheed Afolabi from Ifelodun LG; from 2023 till date, Hon. Olusoji Abidemi Adetunji from Ifelodun LG.
“From the above, Odo Otin has only produced the representative once since 1999, while Ifelodun and Boripe have had multiple opportunities. This clearly reflects the need for equity and balanced representation among the three local governments.
“The Odo Otin Lokan Parrot Movement, a non-partisan advocacy platform of concerned sons and daughters of Odo Otin, believes strongly in justice, inclusiveness, and democratic fairness. Our call is not rooted in division but in the principle that every part of the constituency deserves equal opportunity to lead.
“We therefore urge political stakeholders, community leaders, youths, and well-meaning citizens to support this call for justice and equity. Allowing Odo Otin to produce the next representative will strengthen unity and deepen democratic fairness within the constituency.
“Our message remains clear: Odo Otin Lokan, it is the turn of Odo Otin.”
