The Osun State Government has revealed plans by the Ademola Adeleke-led administration to launch its Security Trust Fund on Thursday.

This was revealed by Kunle Adepoju, Special Adviser to the Governor on General Service, who also doubles as Chairman, Media and Public Committee of the Implementation Committee of the Osun State Security Trust Fund while addressing a Press Conference at the Government House in Abeere, Osun State.

He noted that the Trust Fund is an initiative designed by the Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to strengthen the security architecture of the state through collaboration, innovation, and shared
responsibility.

He further noted that the Trust Fund is a platform for partnership which brings together government, the private sector, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to pool resources and support security agencies in the state with the tools they need to perform effectively.

“Osun State Security Trust Fund, an initiative designed by HE Senator Ademola Adeleke to strengthen our security architecture through collaboration, innovation, and shared
responsibility.

“Security is the foundation upon which all meaningful development is built. Without it, businesses cannot thrive, communities cannot flourish, and citizens cannot live with confidence. While government has the primary responsibility to ensure safety, the realities of our time demand a broader, more inclusive approach. This Trust Fund embodies that approach.

“The Osun State Security Trust Fund is not just a financial mechanism, it is a platform for partnership. It brings together government, the private sector, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to pool resources and support our security agencies with the tools they need to perform effectively. From modern equipment and technology to training, logistics, and intelligence gathering, this initiative is designed to address critical gaps and enhance operational efficiency.

“Transparency and accountability will be the guiding principles of this Fund. We have established a governance structure that ensures proper oversight, prudent management, and regular public reporting. Every contribution will be tracked, and every expenditure will be justified. The trust of our people is paramount, and we earned it and intend to maintain it.

“To our business community, your investments depend on a secure environment. This is an opportunity to directly contribute to the protection of your assets and the stability of the market in which you operate.

“To our citizens, security is everyone’s business. Beyond financial contributions, your vigilance, cooperation with law enforcement, and commitment to peace are invaluable.
To our security agencies: this initiative is a testament to our confidence in your dedication and service. We are committed to supporting you as you continue to safeguard our communities with professionalism and integrity.

“This launch is not the end, it is the beginning of a sustained effort. Together, we can build a safer Osun where families sleep peacefully, entrepreneurs invest boldly, and our youth can aspire without fear.”

In his own remarks, a Security Expert, Barrister Femi Oyedipe explained that the Osun State Security Trust Fund Law was originally enacted in 2012 and noted that alot has gone into the implementation of the Trust Fund Law by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“The Law was originally enacted in 2012 and one of the things we must understand about security is that, no one government can fund security apparatus alone, funding security is one of the things a government can embark on.

“The fact that Trust Fund Law was enacted some years ago and security Trust Fund is being launched now means that the Government of Senator Ademola Adeleke has made a lot of preparation doing this.

“The whole essence of the Trust Fund is to get Public Private Partnership into funding Security, just like in foreign countries.”

The Commissioner for Information and Publicity Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi in own words noted that the guidelines in the law establishing the Trust Fund has provided every necessary tool to ensure that the Trust Fund transcends this administration.

Other dignitaries at the Press Conference include, Commissioner for Innovation, Science, Technology and Digital Economy, Hon Maruf Ayofe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Barrister Samuel Ojo.
