The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, unveiled his administration’s ambitious plan for a N100billion infrastructure project on October 27, 2023.

In his statement on Friday, Adeleke said sound Infrastructure is a condition for economic growth and development, the difference between a growing economy and a dormant one has to do with how developed the state infrastructure is.
“In the case of Osun, I have used the last 11 months to address the over 90 percent infrastructure deficits our administration inherited” he added.

Here are some interesting facts about Adeleke’s N100 billion infrastructure plans:

1..Diverse Funding: The project will be funded through a combination of resources leakage prevention, internally generated revenue, and federal government refunds for projects.

2. Comprehensive Projects: The infrastructure projects comprises of rehabilitation of 345 health centers across all 332 wards, provision and access to clean and portable water, schools rehabilitation, teachers recruitment, road construction, dualization of roads, flyovers, implementing street lighting, and Imole medical outreach.

3. No External Loans: Importantly, this infrastructure plan is entirely state-sponsored, without any reliance on loans from financial institutions.

4. Boosting Local Economy: 95% of the projects will be executed with local resources, ensuring that Osun’s money is spent within Osun

5. Commitment to Transparency: The plan is firmly founded on compliance with procurement laws, due process, and the rule of law, which guarantee transparency and accountability.

6. Public-Private Partnerships: It signifies the state’s readiness to attract business and investments by fostering public-private partnerships, without increasing financial burden.
