The Osun State Government has raised a red alert in response to the recent outbreak of Monkeypox, urging residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
In an official message shared on the Osun State Government’s X (formerly Twitter) handle, authorities highlighted the importance of awareness and sensitization regarding the disease.
The statement outlined key information for the public, including the symptoms and causes of Monkeypox, as well as prevention and treatment measures.
The message reads, “Osun State Government issues red alert against Outbreak of MONKEYPOX (M-Pox).
“Things you need to know: Symptoms and causative agents of the disease.
“Awareness and Sensitization, Prevention and Treatment.
“Stay alert! Stay safe!!”
The message emphasized the need for residents to stay alert and prioritize their safety.
The government’s proactive stance reaffirms the seriousness of the Monkeypox threat and reflects a commitment to safeguarding public health.
Osun Citizens are encouraged to follow the guidelines provided and seek medical attention if they suspect exposure to the virus.
The warning comes in light of confirmed cases of the viral disease in several states across Nigeria.
