OSUN: NPF Tactical Squad Rejects APC Request To Arrest PDP Members – Source

A credible report just coming revealed that the police tactical squad deployed to Osun by the Inspector General of Police has rejected a request by APC state leaders to arrest PDP members over Monday’s illegal takeover bid of local government by APC members.

The state leadership of APC had reportedly compiled names of top PDP leaders across the 30 local governments for immediate arrest. Among those listed are PDP chairmanship candidates and known leaders of the party across the state.

It was gathered that the list was submitted to the leader of the federal squad without the knowledge of the state Commissioner of Police.

Insider signals however revealed that the leader of the team told the APC leaders that he was sent to the state to maintain peace and not to witch hunt the ruling party in the state.

The team was reported to have further advised the APC that according to official reports from the State Police Command, PDP lost five of its members while APC lost one.

The team further disclosed that official reports confirmed that over 100 politicians across party lines were injured.

A source close to the development disclosed that “the team has been careful. I think the IGP has also been mindful of the entire development.

“Let even assume truly there is a court judgement reinstating the sacked chairmen. Does the law allow them to, like gangsters, take over the secretariats? Is that how court judgement is enforced?

“But in this case, there was no such judgement. The only justification is that since APC has federal power, it can enforce a non-existing judgement. That is clearly an error.

“The leaked audio from.APC meeting is also with the federal team and all security agencies in the state. The audio confirmed that the state leadership of APC truly deceived their members.

“But the security agencies cannot be deceived on a matter of law. The federal team and the big bosses in Abuja are aware.

“So the Governor’s directive that politicians should vacate the secretariats has made the job of the Federal team easy. The directive is obeyed across the state.

“So the NPF will not want to plunge the state into another round of crisis by arresting PDP members who lost as many as five members.

“Or if you cannot arrest those who killed PDP members, why will you arrest PDP, the victim?”, the source explained.
