
Spokesperson to Governor Adeleke of Osun State, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has asked the general public to ignore the fake news the the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission has postponed the Local Government Elections billed for Saturday 22nd February, 2025.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday, Olawale notes that the fake news is the handiwork of the opposition desperately seeking the backdoor for power acquisition.
He maintained that the OSSIEC has also announced its full readiness for the election adding that Governor Adeleke has just conducted a state broadcast in which he urged voters to peacefully vote for their chosen candidates.
He said, “this is to urge members of the public to ignore a viral fake news on the local government elections slated for Saturday, February 22nd.
“There is no election postponement. The fake news is the handiwork of the opposition desperately seeking the backdoor for power acquisition.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke has just conducted a state broadcast in which he urged voters to peacefully vote for their chosen candidates on Saturday. The Osun State Electoral Commission has also announced its full readiness for the election.
“All necessary arrangements have been concluded for a successful election. The public should ignore merchants of lies as the election goes ahead as scheduled.”
