The Secretary to the Osun State Government (SSG), Bobagunwa Teslim Igbalaye, has felicitated the Ataoja of Osogbo, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun (Larooye II), his Chiefs, Oloris, princes, princesses, and all indigenes of Osogbo on the celebration of the 2025 Osun Osogbo Festival.
In a goodwill message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Adeoye, the SSG described the festival as “a vibrant celebration of tradition, reflecting the rich heritage and enduring spirit of the Osogbo people, which His Majesty so gracefully embodies.”
High Chief Igbalaye lauded Oba Olanipekun’s exemplary leadership, noting that his reign has been instrumental in safeguarding the cultural values and traditions that make the Osun Osogbo Festival a cornerstone of Yoruba heritage.
The SSG, who is a key member of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting tourism and cultural festivals, stressing that such events boost unity, attract global attention, and enhance the state’s economy.
“May this year’s festival be filled with joy, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose for the entire community. Osun Osogbo a gbe wa o!” Igbalaye prayed.
The Osun Osogbo Festival, a UNESCO-recognised cultural heritage event, continues to attract thousands of visitors from within and outside Nigeria, showcasing the Adeleke administration’s drive to position Osun as a hub of culture and tradition.
