The Osun State Government has dismissed reports alleging the involvement of any of its ministries or agencies in a ₦300 million scandal.
It stated that the claims are “false, malicious, and politically motivated.”
Speaking on Friday, the Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, said the allegations were fabricated by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to distract the government and mislead the public.
“There is no ₦300 million scam or scandal in any Osun government agency or ministry. Governor Ademola Adeleke is running one of the most transparent and accountable administrations in Nigeria today,” Rasheed said.
He accused the APC of resorting to “beer parlour gossip” and propaganda to stay relevant in the political space ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
“Beer parlour gossip elevated to the level of party propaganda cannot whitewash a badly battered opposition like the APC. No amount of fake news can change the reality that the APC and its aspirants are unelectable as far as the 2026 election is concerned,” he stated.
Rasheed explained that Osun operates a robust procurement law that enforces thresholds, approvals, and due process compliance which makes it impossible for any ministry official to mishandle such a huge amount of money.
“Besides approval limits and the tendering process, the procurement system has strict oversight and compliance procedures under which no such corruption could be perpetrated,” he added.
The governor’s aide hinted that legal action might be taken against those behind the publication.
“We deny the allegation as a reprehensible lie from the pit of hell. Governor Adeleke is a transparent and open governance leader who has never and will never tolerate corruption nor shield any official if such misdemeanor ever exists,” he concluded.
