Ataoja’s Remarks Validates Adeleke Administration Infrastructural Development- Imole Campaign Council
By Waliu Adetokun, Osogbo
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has welcomed the recent commendation of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, by the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, describing the monarch’s remarks as a validation of the administration’s infrastructural achievements in Osogbo.
In a statement issued on Sunday, and signed by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the council said the royal endorsement reflects the “visible and practical impact” of Adeleke’s governance across the state capital.
The traditional ruler had, during a recent engagement at his palace, praised the governor for what he described as a significant transformation of Osogbo’s infrastructure and expressed support for his re-election bid.
Reacting, the council stated, “We are deeply honoured by this candid assessment of the Adeleke administration, which reinforces what is already well known within Osun State and beyond. Governor Adeleke has delivered and deserves to be re-elected.”
TICC highlighted several infrastructural projects undertaken by the current administration, including bridges and dual carriageways, noting that these developments have repositioned Osogbo as a modern state capital. It added that key road projects such as the East-West Bypass (Ona Baba Ona) and the Osogbo-Ikirun road have either been completed or are at advanced stages.
The council also criticised the immediate past administration led by former governor Gboyega Oyetola, alleging that it abandoned critical infrastructure projects due to political considerations. It specifically mentioned Bola Oyebamiji as part of that administration.
According to the statement, “Due to the toxic politics that defined that era, critical projects such as the East-West Bypass and the Osogbo–Ikirun–Ila Odo–Kwara boundary road were abandoned, thereby undermining the socio-economic growth of the capital city.”
TICC further noted that work is ongoing on the remaining sections of the Osogbo-Ikirun-Ila Odo road corridor, while new projects aimed at improving connectivity within the city have been initiated.
The council assured residents that the Adeleke administration would sustain its infrastructure drive, citing ongoing and proposed projects such as the remodelling of the Osogbo stadium and the planned dualisation of the Old Garage to Ilesa Garage road.
It also urged voters in the state to support the governor’s re-election, warning against what it described as a return to a “painful past characterised by neglect, hardship and stalled development.”
“The future of Osun lies in the continuity of progress, not retrogression,” the statement added, expressing confidence that residents would renew the governor’s mandate for another term.
