“Account for Your 2018 Promises Before Seeking fresh support — Imole Movement to APC

The Imole Grassroots Movement has urged the All Progressives Congress in Osun State to give a detailed account of its 2018 campaign promises and performance in office before seeking fresh support from the electorate ahead of another election season.
This was contained in a statement issued by the group’s Public Relations Officer, Damilola Okandeji, who accused the APC of returning with “another round of empty promises, the recycled rhetoric, and political propaganda.”
According to the statement, it was “astonishing and disappointing” that a party which allegedly failed to fulfil most of its campaign promises between 2018 and 2022 was once again presenting itself as an alternative to the people of Osun State.
“The APC owes the people of Osun a clear, honest, and transparent account of its stewardship before attempting to burden residents with another cycle of hollow assurances,” the statement said.
The group maintained that governance should be assessed through tangible achievements, accountability, and improvement in citizens’ welfare rather than “media theatrics and political grandstanding.”
It further alleged that residents of the state endured unpaid salaries, economic hardship, poor infrastructure, and policies that failed to improve living conditions during the APC administration.
“The people of Osun have not forgotten the realities they faced under the APC government. Instead of addressing these unresolved issues with sincerity and humility, the party has once again resorted to repackaging old narratives to manipulate public sentiment,” the statement added.
The movement, however, praised the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing it as people-focused and committed to infrastructural renewal, workers’ welfare, grassroots development, educational support initiatives, and transparency in governance.
“These are visible and verifiable achievements that citizens across Osun State can attest to,” the group stated.
The organisation also warned that the electorate had become more politically conscious and would no longer be swayed by “cosmetic political campaigns and unrealistic pledges.”
“What the people demand today is sincerity, competence, accountability, and governance that delivers measurable results, not promises without performance,” the statement concluded.
