The Osun State Chapter of Action Peoples Party has said that the Appeal Court ruling on Monday has no linked with the ruling in the case of APP vs OSSIEC and APC adding that the judgment in the case of APP nullifying the 2022 Local Government Election is still valid.
A statement by Chairman of the party, Odesola Oluseye Titus, charged party members to remain calm, focused, and committed to the democratic process adding that the party is ready for the forthcoming local government election in the state.
The statement reads, “In the case of the Judgement delivered in the case filled by Action Peoples Party (APP) Vs APC and OSSIEC granted as of November 30, 2022 remain unchanged. And it’s effective . Today’s Appeal Court judgement has nothing to do with APP judgement.
“We in APP want to use this opportunity to urge the public to note that the APP judgement has no bearing on today’s court decision and its validity remain unaffected.
“I would also like to address the false rumour circulating about Yes or No election candidates returning to office. Please be assured that there is no such order.
“Additionally, today’s judgement has no impact on the upcoming local government election scheduled for February 22, 2025. This election is very important for development of our democracy. The election will proceed as planned and I want to encourage all eligible voters to get ready to perform their civic duty.
“Let us remain calm, focused, and committed to the democratic process. Avoid distraction and let us go out and exercise our civic duty.
“Thank you and remain blessed.”
