Just In: Osun West Ex-senatorial Aspirant Dumps APC

A former Osun West Senatorial Aspirant within the All Progressives Congress, Chief Peter Ogundeji, popularly known as Apata has defected from the party.
In a letter dated 11th July, 2026 and addressed to the APC Chairman, Ward 6, Ola, Ejigbo Local Government Area, Osun State, Ogundeji noted that the resignation is with immediate effect.
He added that the decision followed deep personal reflection and extensive consultations adding that it was not an easy decision but maintaining that he believes it is in the overall interest of his political convictions and future aspirations.
The letter reads in part, “In reaching this position, I carefully considered the views, concerns and aspirations of my political associates, supporters and other stakeholders who have stood by me. I remain deeply appreciative of their unwavering loyalty and confidence, and believe this step reflects our shared commitment to pursuing our political ideals in an atmosphere of fairness, inclusiveness and mutual respect.
“I sincerely appreciate the opportunities the party gave me to serve, contribute to its growth, and work alongside many committed leaders and members. I remain grateful for the relationships forged and the valuable experiences gained during my membership.
“Kindly accept this letter as my formal notice of resignation from the All Progressives Congress.”
