The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Osun State, Engineer Bashir Bello, has said that the massive infrastructure renewal agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke is changing the face of the state and repositioning its economy for growth.
Bello made this known on Imole Ayo, a weekly sensitization programme on the channels of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), designed to showcase the achievements of the Adeleke administration. The programme is organized by the office of the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
Speaking through the Director of Highways in the ministry, Engineer Moruf Ojebode, the Permanent Secretary disclosed that several ongoing mega projects across Osogbo, Ilesa, and Ile-Ife are already nearing completion. These include the Oke-Fia flyover, the LAMECO flyover, the dualization of Ereja Square to Breweries Junction, and the Lagere flyover.
He added that Governor Adeleke recently unveiled another set of signature projects which have commenced in earnest.
Among them are the dualization of Iwo township road, Ila township road, and the Ikirun–Ila Odo dual carriageway.
According to him, other road interventions currently ongoing include the Ilesa Garage–Ago Ayo/Ibu Aje/Odofin Community road and Emmanuel Hospital road in Osogbo, as well as the Ejigbo–Iwo road, Ejigbo–Ogburo–Aye road, UNIOSUN Okuku campus road, and Hospital road in Oyan.
Ojebode urged residents to exercise patience, assuring that the infrastructural revolution under Governor Adeleke would be evenly spread across the nooks and crannies of the state.
“The present administration is working with a clear vision to deliver enduring infrastructure for the people of Osun State. We appeal for continued support and cooperation to ensure that the projects are completed and sustained,” he said.
The highways director also cautioned residents against acts capable of damaging the newly constructed roads, stressing that community ownership and protection of public infrastructure are vital to the sustainability of government efforts.
