Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on indigenes and residents of the state to troop out en masse for the nationwide Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR) exercise.
He described the exercise as a “critical civic responsibility” that will determine the future of governance in the state.
In a statement issued on Monday in Osogbo, the Governor stressed the importance of the exercise, particularly for young citizens who have just attained voting age, as well as residents who may have lost or misplaced their permanent voter cards.
“The 2026 governorship election is pivotal to sustainable delivery of good governance in Osun State. I call on all eligible voters to ensure they are captured in the voters’ register. Those who have misplaced their cards must get new ones. We must all exercise our voting right to sustain a listening and responsive administration in the state,” Adeleke declared.
He further appealed to Osun indigenes living outside the state to transfer their voter cards back home ahead of the election, noting that mass participation would secure the continuation of people-oriented leadership.
“Our voter card is our weapon to prove that good governance is a possibility, as Osun has experienced in the last two and a half years,” the Governor said. “We must not only update our registration details, we should ensure we vote and protect our votes when the time comes. We must be ready to stop electoral robbers if they ever attempt to thwart the will of the people.”
Governor Adeleke also charged state officials, community leaders, and stakeholders across all local governments to mobilise residents for the exercise, while expressing confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a seamless process in the public interest.
