Adeleke Campaign organization Puts Oyebamiji on the Spot with 30 Accountability Queries

The Adeleke Campaign Organisation has challenged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, to address what it described as lingering issues from his past public service.
In a statement issued on Monday, the group said Oyebamiji’s records in key positions, including at the Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL), as Commissioner for Finance, and at the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), remain matters of public concern.
The organisation maintained that residents of the state were aware of his role in major policy decisions, including the controversial half salary regime, the sale of Osun shares in Omoluabi Bank, and the handling of state assets in Lagos and Abuja.
It said, “Osun people are living witnesses to the role played in the half salary saga, the sale of Osun shares at Omoluabi Bank, the management of Osun assets in Lagos and Abuja, and other decisions taken during his time in office.”
The group contrasted this with what it described as the achievements of the current administration under Governor Ademola Adeleke, noting that projects across infrastructure, agriculture, education and health were visible to the people.
“We have been showcasing Governor Adeleke’s achievements across major towns in Osun State. Osun people have seen in real time how public funds are being utilised, from roads and bridges to water facilities, stadium projects, cooperative financing, agricultural mechanisation, and improvements in schools and the health sector,” the statement added.
The campaign organisation proceeded to raise 30 accountability questions for Oyebamiji, urging him to provide explanations on issues relating to asset management, financial decisions, procurement processes and debt profile during his time in office.
Among the questions were why state properties in Lagos and Abuja were allegedly disposed of without due process while he headed OSICOL, and why proceeds from the transfer of shares linked to Omoluabi Bank were not remitted directly to the state treasury.
It also queried his role in the payment of half salaries and outstanding pensions, as well as decisions affecting payroll management and the implementation of financial systems in the state.
On the health sector, the group asked for clarification on the handling of a World Bank supported health grant, alleging that due process was not followed.
The statement further raised concerns about funding for state owned institutions, including Osun State University and the University of Ilesa, as well as the state’s debt profile during his tenure.
On his time at NIWA, the organisation questioned reported fatalities on inland waterways and the circumstances surrounding his exit from the agency.
It also asked Oyebamiji to respond to issues surrounding his campaign, including the withdrawal of an earlier manifesto, the absence of a final policy document, and what it described as reliance on “federal might.”
“We urge Mr. Oyebamiji to be man enough to address these issues and take responsibility where necessary.
Osun people have moved on from the challenges of the past to a period of visible progress across towns and communities in the state,” the statement concluded.
