Osun State Security Trust Fund: Igbalaye Calls for Stakeholders’ Support to Strengthen Security

The Secretary to Osun State Government, Bobagunwa Teslim Igbalaye, has called for the support of all stakeholders toward strengthening security across Osun State through the newly launched Osun State Security Trust Fund.
He made this statement at the official launch of the Fund, held in Osogbo on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, Igbalaye, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Fund’s Implementation Committee, emphasized that security is a collective responsibility that cannot be left to government alone, urging individuals and organizations to contribute meaningfully to the initiative.
He commended the Governor of the State, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for his visionary leadership and commitment to peace and stability, describing the Security Trust Fund as a critical step in consolidating the administration’s security agenda.
According to him, the Fund is designed to provide essential support to security agencies through the provision of operational vehicles, modern communication equipment, surveillance systems, and other logistics that will enhance intelligence gathering and rapid response capabilities across the state.
Igbalaye noted that Osun State has remained relatively peaceful and investor-friendly due to proactive governance and sustained engagement with security agencies, adding that maintaining this stability requires the active involvement of all well-meaning stakeholders.
He also paid tribute to the courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of security operatives, acknowledging their dedication to keeping communities safe despite challenging conditions.
Highlighting the importance of accountability, the SSG assured that all contributions to the Fund would be transparently managed and judiciously utilized in line with global best practices.
He therefore appealed to corporate organizations, financial institutions, market associations, labour unions, private individuals, and traditional institutions to support the initiative, stressing that no contribution is too small in the collective effort to secure the state.
“This goes beyond a call for support; it is a call to shared responsibility. The safety of our people and the future of our State depend on the actions we take today,” he said.
