The Imole Campaign Council has condoled the families of All Progressives Members lost their loved ones and others who sustained various degrees of injury in a truck accident today while the AMBO Campaign Organization was on a rally in Ede, Osun State.

It noted that it is bound by shared humanity to stand in solidarity with fellow citizens affected by this tragedy, offering comfort to ease the burden of grief and praying to God to forestall such occurrence and protect everyone, irrespective of party affiliations before and after the governorship poll.

The council in a statement by its Spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, however called out the APC Governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji for proceeding with the event and Inaugurating its canvassers despite this tragic loss describe him as rather insensitive.

The statement reads, “The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) receives with a profound sadness news of a truck ramming into a procession of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in anticipation of its rally billed for Ede today, commiserating with the party and family members of the deceased over the tragic incident.

“Our campaign council is visibly shaken by reports that the accident involving a truck who lost its brake recorded a fatality while several other victims are in critical condition and receiving treatment at the hospital.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of the departed and everyone touched by the loss.

“In this moment of anguish and adversity, we hope that the families impacted find strength in the support and prayers of those around them, and have the strength to overcome this period of pain. To those who are in critical conditions and fighting for recovery in the hospital, our thoughts and prayers are with them and we wish them quick recoveries.

“As a campaign council, we are bound by shared humanity to stand in solidarity with our fellow citizens affected by this tragedy, offering our comfort to ease the burden of grief. It is our prayer to God to forestall such occurrence and protect everyone, irrespective of party affiliations before and after the governorship poll.

“We are however appalled that, many hours after the unfortunate incident, the AMBO Campaign Council has not deemed it fit to honour the memory of the dead APC member and injured ones in any manner. Rather, reports indicate that the APC candidate, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji  continued his jamboree of inaugurating lame canvassers in the same local government where the tragedy occurred.

“In addition, the APC Campaign Director General, Oluwole Oke, who had been alleged to have a hand in the murder of Rogba Ajayi, an Accord member in his hometown of Esa-Oke, continued to pose for childish photographs without any iota of sympathy for the mourning widow and her children in his backyard.

“We do wonder if these individuals recognise the gravity of their inhumane conducts in the face of these tragic loss of lives involving people they hope to govern.

“We submit that  singing and shouting party slogans when families mourn as a result of an accident involving supporters amount to reckless display of cruelty and inhumanity which further suggest that the APC candidate is utterly unfit for leadership.”
